The Exhibition
Following the "Reflections" community workshop at the Lee Association, the resulting digital memories were integrated into the Inter(mediate) Spaces VR installation for a three-day public showcase at the Goethe-Institut Montreal.
The exhibition served as a bridge between the private process of community co-creation and public discourse on digital heritage. Visitors were invited to step into a generative virtual environment where the landscapes and soundscapes were shaped by the stories of Montreal's Chinatown diaspora, exploring themes of displacement, resilience, and the preservation of cultural memory.
- Immersive VR Experience: A 10-minute journey through AI-generated community memories, where participants navigated a shifting landscape of digital artifacts and oral histories.
- Artist Talk: A public discussion featuring Chloé Lee and local collaborators on the ethical use of AI in community archiving and the role of immersive technology in social justice.
- Interactive Feedback: A dedicated space for visitors to contribute their own reflections, which were then used to further refine the project's generative algorithms.
